Abstract The aim of this study is to characterize the stress–strain behavior three construction steels (SM490, SM570, and F18B) through both experimental numerical investigations. material performance was evaluated by conducting tests on round bar specimens subjected monotonic, fatigue, incremental step fully reversed loading conditions. campaign conducted provide valuable information mechanical performances data for calibrating constants required analyses. simulations aimed demonstrate effectiveness proposed unconventional plasticity model, Fatigue SS model (FSS), in describing non-linear materials under a broad range conditions, including stress states below beyond macroscopic yield condition. This aspect significant advantage FSS as conventional elastoplastic theories fail phenomenological description inelastic deformation within good agreement between results confirms validity calibration reliability computational approach.
